Wiley Rein Attorneys Honored; Firm Launches Media Law Blog

Business Insurance magazine has named Kimberly M. Melvin, a partner in Wiley Rein’s Insurance Practice, to its select list of 2013 “Women to Watch” in the insurance industry. The award spotlights “women leaders doing outstanding work” in risk management, benefits management, commercial insurance, and the legal field. The 25 recipients were honored on December 3 at a leadership workshop and awards luncheon in New York.

Firm Chairman Richard E. Wiley is one of 14 Wiley Rein attorneys from five practice areas named to Washingtonian’s “Best Lawyers” list in its December 2013 issue. In compiling its guide to the capital area’s “best legal minds,” the magazine selected 1,000 attorneys across 30 practice areas from the region’s “some 80,000 lawyers.”

Toner one of its top 50 “influencers” whose efforts “will shape the outcome of 2014 and beyond.” Mr. Toner was noted as being among the 10 top campaign finance attorneys ranked in its “Enforcers” category as the magazine looks ahead to the 2014 midterm elections.  Campaigns & Elections based its rankings for “The Influencers 50” on nearly 100 interviews and selected 10 individuals in five different categories.
