Sills Cummis & Gross P.C. Names New Members And Of Counsel

David L. Cook and David E. Weiss have been named members of Sills Cummis & Gross P.C., and Peter M. Flannery and Clint Kakstys have been named of counsel to the firm.

David Cook (Litigation Practice Group – Newark) represents corporations and banks in litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States. He also has substantial experience defending antitrust class actions, U.S. sanctions and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigations, defamation claims and securities fraud class actions.

David Weiss (Corporate Practice Group – New York) represents public and private companies in connection with corporate and securities matters, including public and private securities offerings (both issuer and underwriter representation), securities registration, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters.

Peter Flannery (Real Estate Practice Group – Princeton) focuses his practice on land use and development law.

Clint Kakstys (Real Estate Practice Group – New York) focuses his practice on the acquisition, disposition and financing of commercial properties throughout the United States.

The Bergen County Chapter of The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People honored former Congressman and Sills Cummis & Gross Member Steven R. Rothman with the 2013 Jack Drakeford Trailblazer Award on September 28. This award is given to individuals who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the mission of the Association.

Mr. Rothman served as a U.S. Congressman representing the 9th District for eight terms.  At Sills Cummis and Gross, he heads up the firm’s Aerospace and Defense Industry Group, which is multi-disciplinary in nature. His first-hand experience with defense issues provides his clients with knowledgeable advice and counsel on best business practices. He also focuses on government relations and public policy, as well as litigation for clients in a variety of other industries.
