Senior Counsel Bennett Picker presented at the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, on April 5 on the topic of “What Is the Best Time To Mediate a Dispute.” The CLE program was a two-hour panel discussion on how mediation and early settlement efforts can reduce costs and minimize litigation risks. 

As senior counsel at Stradley Ronon, Mr. Picker is a full-time mediator and arbitrator. He is a distinguished fellow of the International Academy of Mediators and a fellow of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators. Mr. Picker serves on the panels of the American Arbitration Association and the CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution. He is also the author of Mediation Practice Guide: A Handbook For Resolving Business Disputes (Second Edition), published in 2003 by the ABA Section on Dispute Resolution.

Stradley Ronon attorney Jana Landon served as an instructor for the International Association of Arson Investigators, Inc.’s (IAAI) expert witness courtroom testimony course at IAAI headquarters in Crofton, MD on June 4-6. Ms. Landon worked with fire investigators from across the country to prepare them for expert witness testimony, instructed the group on various legal issues facing investigators and experts, and examined the investigators during a mock trial exercise.

Ms. Landon focuses her practice on representing clients in insurance, products liability and complex commercial matters. In the area of insurance litigation, Ms. Landon has defended companies in administrative hearings and state and federal courts in disputes that have involved complex coverage claims for behavioral health matters, environmental coverage, mortgage insurance, and life insurance and annuity claims.
