Complete Discovery Source has achieved ISO 27001 certification for its information security management system (ISMS) supporting its Electronic Discovery Hosting Services.
Of critical significance to eDiscovery clients, in order to receive this certification, CDS demonstrated a systematic and continuous approach to managing sensitive information through a rigorous testing and evaluation process. Additionally, CDS has established a formal, ongoing program to maintain the certification. The certification was performed by BrightLine, an ANAB-accredited certification body based in the United States.
ISO 27001 is a globally recognized standard for the establishment and certification of an information security management system. The standard specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving a documented ISMS within the context of the organization’s overall business risks. It sets forth a risk-based approach that focuses on adequate and proportionate security controls that protect information assets and give confidence to interested parties.
"This ISO 27001 certification is further assurance of CDS's commitment to providing the most secure environment possible for all of our eDiscovery projects," said Garrett Bendel, chief operating officer. "There are a handful of eDiscovery providers that tout various certifications, but many are not specific to eDiscovery. For serious eDiscovery, this is a certification that matters."
