Kiersted is proud to sponsor LegalTech New York 2013, the largest legal technology event of the year, to be held on January 29-31 at The Hilton New York, in New York City. LegalTech provides an in-depth look at the latest legal technology, providing educational sessions, keynote addresses and an expansive exhibit hall. During the conference, Kiersted will announce significant added functionality to Kiersted Direct and their Relativity offerings and conduct demonstrations from Booth 2113. Kiersted will also sponsor LegalTech’s Government Investigations and Litigation Track and its Women in eDiscovery Panel.
“When it comes to legal technology, document review is often the most expensive component,” notes Andre Guilbeau, executive vice president of Kiersted. “We’re excited to introduce new enhancements to Kiersted Direct that will make it much easier to quickly, easily and efficiently cull unwanted documents, saving time and money.”
Kiersted Direct’s new features include Location Culling, which allows users to quickly identify and exclude data en masse by location; Domain/Sender Address/Sender Name Culling, which can assist in finding and removing large groups of non-responsive documents; and Snippets, which empowers users to quickly ignore repetitive strings of text that are responsive to search terms but not relevant – such as email footers.
Kiersted will also demonstrate its latest set of Relativity enhancements, including Media Manager, which contains up-to-date media information pertaining to all data stored in the database; Production Manager, which keeps track of all productions; Production Specification Manager, which ensures productions are done consistently; and Docket Manager, which gives users the ability to store matter-related supporting documents within their Relativity projects.
LegalTech isn’t just about introducing new technology – it’s also about providing forums for discussion on the best ways to put it into practice. As part of Kiersted’s sponsorship of the Government Investigations and Litigation Track, president George Kiersted will moderate two panels to be held on January 31 in the Trianon ballroom, with key panel members from the Department of Justice. The first panel, titled “The Role of Litigation Technology in Government Investigations and Cases: What You Need to Know Litigating in the 21st Century,” begins at 10:30 a.m. The second session, “Legal and Strategic Considerations in Government Investigations,” begins at 1:45 p.m.
Kiersted will also sponsor Women in eDiscovery (WiE), which gives LegalTech attendees the opportunity to network and participate in panel discussions and promotes the American Heart Association’s “Go Red” campaign to raise heart disease awareness. Kiersted is providing the meeting space for WiE’s LegalTech Educational Session, titled “Valued Partners in the New Age of Corporate eDiscovery Management,” which will take place from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. in the Trianon ballroom. This session will address the changing role of law firms and service providers as corporations seek to reduce eDiscovery costs and manage the process more effectively.
“The LegalTech Conference gives us an excellent opportunity to discuss litigation technology challenges and solutions,” says George Kiersted. “We look forward to interacting with this year’s attendees and panelists.”
