McCarter & English Expands Its Executive Compensation Practice In New York

October 3, 2012McCarter & English LLP has announced that Joseph E. Bachelder III and Jerome J. Cohen have joined the firm’s New York office as special counsel. The two attorneys have worked together for many years at the Bachelder Law Firm, representing Fortune 500 CEOs and other senior managers on complex compensation and tax issues.

With the addition of Messrs. Bachelder and Cohen, the firm’s New York office now has 42 attorneys.

Mr. Bachelder was the founder and senior partner of the Bachelder Law Firm. He represents prominent CEOs and other senior-level executives of U.S. corporations as well as boards of directors and compensation committees. Mr. Bachelder writes the "Executive Compensation" column for the New York Law Journal and is a frequent speaker at the American Law Institute/ABA, the Practising Law Institute and The Conference Board. He has lectured at Harvard Law School, Harvard Business School, Columbia, Stanford, Northwestern and the Universities of Wisconsin and Delaware, is a member of the Advisory Board of the Program on Corporate Governance at Harvard Law School, and is a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel. 

Mr. Cohen was of-counsel at the Bachelder Law Firm and counsels publicly and privately held companies on tax and other legal aspects of their compensation programs for their directors, senior executives and other management personnel.
