Stradley Ronon partner David H. Joseph presented “Structured Finance & Securitization: Loss Mitigation Adventures in Today’s Tempestuous Capital Markets” at the 22nd Meritas Annual Meeting in New Orleans. Mr. Joseph discussed the current state of the U.S. securitization market, recent “green shoots” transactions and trends in institutional-investor loss mitigation.
Mr. Joseph advises a broad range of private and public companies in a variety of industries – from financial services to electronic publishing. His practice includes securitization and structured finance, mergers and acquisitions, public and private securities offerings, private investment funds, derivatives, commercial finance and general corporate work.

Stradley Ronon partner Samuel J. Arena Jr. and Chubb Group’s vice president and manager of surety and political risk claims, Richard E. Towle, co-chaired the American Bar Association’s 2012 Spring Surety Meeting of the Fidelity & Surety Law Committee on Hilton Head Island, N.C. on May 10 and 11. The two-day program presented The Law of Commercial Surety and Miscellaneous Bonds, Second Edition, and involved more than 50 insurance company claim professionals, outside counsel and obligee representatives. Among the featured presentations were panel discussions on Commercial Surety from the Underwriter’s Perspective and Commercial Surety from the Claims Professional’s Perspective.
Mr. Arena chairs Stradley Ronon’s Fidelity & Surety Practice Group and concentrates his practice in insurance law and fidelity and surety law. He represents insurance companies in complex coverage and related disputes in the areas of fidelity and surety law, directors and officers liability, commercial and general liability, health insurance claims and litigation, and personal lines. Mr. Arena has extensive experience representing insurance companies in bad-faith and extra-contractual liability claims and litigation.
