Richard E. Honen, a partner with Phillips Lytle LLP, one of the region’s best known law firms, moderated a panel at the 2012 Venture Forum.
The Center for Economic Growth’s SmartStart Upstate New York Technology Group (UNYTECH) and Bright Buffalo Niagara’s Bright Forum partnered to host this year’s joint event. The two-day forum connected early-stage, high-tech companies with angel investors and venture capitalists. It was held May 16 and 17 in Buffalo.
The panel, “Establishing an Open Innovation Program in an Existing Business & Strategic Partnerships between Corporations and Startups” took place on May 16. David Eilers, Vice President, Business Development at Blue Highway, Stewart Mehlman Director-Technology at Praxair, and Sri Vilayanoor, Founder & President at AccuMED Technologies was the on the panel with Mr. Honen.
Mr. Honen, office leader of Phillips Lytle’s Albany office, focuses his practice in banking, corporate and venture capital law and commercial litigation. He provides corporate counsel to a broad spectrum of companies with a particular emphasis on emerging growth and start-up companies. Listed in The Best Lawyers in America®, he received his J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University and his B.A. from State University of New York at Albany.
