Law360 has recognized Wiley Rein's Government Contracts, Insurance and International Trade Practices as being among the nation's best in 2011.  These "Groups of the Year" honors are based on each practice's notable work and significant litigation matters over the past 12 months.

This is the second consecutive year the Government Contracts and International Trade Practices have been recognized as Law360 "Groups of the Year."  Each year, editors at the publication review hundred of groups to make their selections.

Thomas W. Brunner has been selected to serve on the Board of Managerial Trustees of the International Association of Women Judges (IAWJ), a nonprofit, non-partisan organization composed of more than 4,000 members from more than 100 nations.

Since its founding in 1991, IAWJ has brought together women judges from diverse judicial systems to share knowledge on topics relating to equal justice, the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary. IAWJ encourages women to consider careers in law and the judiciary, and it encourages governments to select and promote women as judges. IAWJ also works with its national associations to develop and implement training and educational programs on issues concerning discrimination and violence against women.

Mr. Brunner, chairman emeritus of Wiley Rein's Insurance Practice, has counseled insurance industry clients for more than 30 years. Named by Legal Times as a "Leading Insurance Lawyer," Mr. Brunner was founding counsel for several industry groups, including Complex Insurance Claims Litigation Association. He currently serves as general counsel for LeapFrog Investments, a social investment fund supporting microinsurance projects for low-income individuals in developing countries.
