Gibbons P.C. has expanded both its Employment & Labor Department and traditional labor practice. Mitchell Boyarsky, formerly of Jackson Lewis LLP, has joined the firm as a Director and will be resident in the firm’s New Jersey and New York offices. He has practiced employment and labor law in private practice, as in-house counsel, and in the public sector for more than 17 years.
As a partner at Jackson Lewis, Mr. Boyarsky counseled clients in employment, trade secret and restrictive covenant, wage and hour, and labor matters. He prepared agreements and policies, advised on employment aspects of corporate transactions and represented clients in litigation and administrative proceedings. In a prior position in the legal department of Reuters America LLC, he oversaw employment and labor matters for the company’s operations in the Americas. He also was the chief spokesperson and head of the bargaining committee for the company in union negotiations. In addition, from 1994 to 1995, Mr. Boyarsky was assistant general counsel with the New York City Mayor’s Office of Labor Relations, where he handled administrative proceedings and contract negotiations.
