Jones Day ranked #1 globally in M&A league tables for the third quarter of 2011, maintaining a position it has held for 44 consecutive quarters.
Jones Day led all law firms for number of completed deals worldwide in the Q3 2011 M&A rankings released this month by Thomson Reuters. The firm received credit from Thomson for 314 completed deals worldwide, surpassing the #2 firm by 76 deals. Thomson also ranked the firm #1 for completed deals with U.S. targets with 166 deals. The firm captured the #1 ranking in every published Thomson league table based on deal count.
In the Bloomberg league tables, which are based on announced transactions, Jones Day ranked #1 both for number of worldwide deals and for number of deals involving U.S. companies. Bloomberg published 23 rankings based on deal count. The firm ranked #1 in seven of these and in the top 10 in 17 of the 23 total. Jones Day has maintained the #1 worldwide ranking for number of deals in both the Thomson and Bloomberg tables every quarter since year-end 2000.
Eight Jones Day lawyers have been named leading lawyers in Chambers Latin America 2012: Latin America's Leading Lawyers for Business. Chambers also ranked the firm's Banking & Finance and Corporate/M&A practices among the best in Latin America and the Capital Markets and Real Estate practices among the best in México.
