Lowenstein Sandler continues to expand, adding venture capital and technology partner Charles Torres as a member of its growing New York venture practice. He joins the firm's Tech Group, one of the national leaders in representing venture-backed companies and their investors.

The addition of Charles Torres is part of Lowenstein's continuing strategic expansion of both the Tech Group and the firm's New York office, which includes the recent addition of the patent team led by Marina Portnova and Dan Ovenezian that joined in Lowenstein's Palo Alto office this spring and the addition of renowned white collar litigator Ira Lee "Ike" Sorkin, securities litigator Donald Corbett, and M&A attorney Marita Makinen in New York.

Lowenstein Sandler organized the 25th Annual Battle of the Barristers, a one-day softball fundraising tournament for local law firms and corporations. The event raised $85,000 for the Greater Newark's Fresh Air Fund, a program that provides inner-city children with free summer camping experiences.

The corporate sponsorships and donations from participating law firm and corporate teams help make Battle of the Barristers one of Fresh Air Fund's largest annual fundraisers.
