King & Spalding Continues New York Office Expansion With Addition Of Corporate Finance Partner

King & Spalding has announced the addition of corporate finance partner Ram Burshtine to its New York office - the eighth lateral partner to join the office since the start of 2010. King & Spalding's New York office has seen a substantial influx in talent over the past year. Burshtine's arrival follows that of professional liability and securities litigation partners James J. Capra, Jr., James P. Cusick and David M. Fine; executive compensation and employee benefits partner Kenneth Raskin; Crayton L. Bell, a mergers, acquisitions and private equity partner specializing in the energy sector; private equity, mergers, acquisitions and securities partner John Herbert; and arbitration partner and former general counsel of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Guillermo Aguilar-Alvarez.

Mr. Burshtine has broad experience in representing financial institutions, corporate borrowers and private equity sponsors in a wide variety of domestic and cross-border financing transactions, including acquisition finance, investment grade financing, leveraged cash-flow and asset-based syndicated credit facilities (including first and second lien secured lending transactions) and healthcare financings, as well as workouts and exit financing.

A team of three King & Spalding lawyers is being honored by New York-based inMotion, Inc., in recognition of the firm's representation of low-income, underserved women in family law cases. The trio of partner Andrew H. Charles and associates Sheryl A. Kass and R. Davis Powell, will receive an inMotion 2011 Commitment to Justice Award at ceremonies in New York on February 8. All three are members of the firm's capital transactions and real estate practice in the New York office.

inMotion is a New York City-based non-profit organization that provides low-income, underserved or abused women with free, quality legal services, primarily in the areas of matrimonial, family and immigration law. More than 4,000 attorneys have been trained and taken cases referred by inMotion.

King & Spalding has announced that Steven M. Niedelman, a former high-ranking official at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, has joined King & Spalding's Washington, DC office as lead quality systems and compliance consultant for the firm's leading FDA and life sciences practice.

Mr. Niedelman joins King & Spalding from Crowell & Moring LLP, where he was a senior consultant in its healthcare group. Mr. Niedelman specializes in regulatory, enforcement and policy matters involving industries regulated by the FDA.
