Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is pleased to announce the promotion of 16 attorneys to the partnership, effective January 1, 2011. These accomplished men and women have demonstrated their dedication and commitment to our clients and to our firm.

Shar Ahmed is a partner in our energy and global transactions practice in Houston. Mr. Ahmed represents issuers, underwriters and purchasers in registered and private securities offerings of debt and equity securities.

Timothy J. Becker is a partner in our tax practice in New York. Mr. Becker provides tax advice relating to the formation and operation of domestic and offshore private investment funds, including hedge funds and private equity funds.

Daniel I. Fisher is a partner in our corporate practice in Washington, D.C. Mr. Fisher advises public and private companies in negotiated and contested acquisitions and divestitures, tender offers, exchange offers, joint ventures, spin-offs and proxy contests.

Ron Grabov-Nardini is a partner in our tax practice in New York. Mr. Grabov-Nardini provides tax planning advice to clients on a wide range of business transactions, focusing on the formation and operation of private investment funds, including hedge funds and private equity funds, as well as financial restructurings and reorganizations.

Blayne A. Grady is a partner in our investment funds practice in Washington, D.C. Mr. Grady advises private equity sponsors and investors as well as public and private companies on private equity fund formation, fund investment, mergers and acquisitions, and securities offerings.

Alice Hsu is a partner in our corporate practice in New York. Ms. Hsu advises issuers, underwriters and selling stockholders in public offerings and private placements of equity and debt securities.

Stephen S. Kho is a partner in our international trade practice in Washington, D.C. Mr. Kho focuses on trade policy and dispute resolution in the international arena.

Vanessa A. Liborio Garrido de Sousa is a partner in our international arbitration practice in Geneva. Ms. Liborio advises with a particular focus on complex, high-value disputes involving major infrastructure construction projects, consortia and joint venture agreements, sales of goods, collateral management agreements, insurance coverage and consultancy agreements.

Gary M. McLaughlin is a partner in our labor and employment practice in Los Angeles. Mr. McLaughlin advises employers on matters involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, public policy violations, employment contracts, and wage and hour issues.
