Jones Day Adds Litigators Henry Asbill And Kerri Ruttenberg As Washington Partners

Global law firm Jones Day today announced that Henry Asbill and Kerri Ruttenberg have joined the Washington office as partners in the Trial Practice, focusing on criminal defense, SEC enforcement, and complex civil litigation. They were formerly partners with Dewey & LeBoeuf.

Mr. Asbill has defended individual and corporate clients in federal and state courts against a broad spectrum of criminal and civil charges for more than three decades. Among numerous accolades, he is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for "Bet-the-Company Litigation." A former Washington, DC public defender, Mr. Asbill is a past president and current fellow of the American Board of Criminal Lawyers and charter member and past president of the DC Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is a graduate of Princeton University and Georgetown Law School.

Ms. Ruttenberg, in addition to extensive trial work, has successfully briefed and argued appeals in numerous federal and state courts, including the Tenth Circuit, D.C. Circuit, D.C. Court of Appeals, Virginia Supreme Court, and Maryland Court of Special Appeals. A graduate of American University and George Washington University Law School, where she was awarded Order of the Coif and won "best oralist" in the moot court competition, Ms. Ruttenberg has received numerous awards for her pro bono work.
