Shawn Wooden, a partner in Day Pitney's Private Equity and Investment Funds practice, will be honored by the Connecticut State Conference of the NAACP as one of the 100 Most Influential Blacks in the State of Connecticut.
The Connecticut State Conference of NAACP Branches will be hosting its 44th Annual State Convention on November 6 and 7 at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Connecticut. The NAACP will celebrate with the centennial theme, "NAACP 100 Years of Bold Dreams and Big Victories." As part of this celebration, the NAACP will be honoring the achievements and contributions of the 100 Most Influential Blacks in the State of Connecticut.

Day Pitney is pleased to announce that Tom Goldberg, a partner in the firm's Stamford office, has been elected to a two-year term as Chair of the Board of Directors of Connecticut Legal Services (CLS), the largest legal services organization in Connecticut. Mr. Goldberg was elected to the post at the CLS annual meeting, which took place October 27. Mr. Goldberg has served on the board of CLS for more than ten years, most recently as vice chair.
CLS is a private, non-profit, civil law firm dedicated to helping low-income families and individuals obtain justice and serves areas in which about 60 percent of the state's low-income population resides. The bulk of CLS's work consists of providing civil law representation and counseling to thousands of low-income families and individuals each year and helping clients use the law to meet basic life needs.
Mr. Goldberg is a partner in Day Pitney's commercial litigation department, where he has represented clients in a wide variety of complex commercial litigation, including shareholder and securities litigation, derivative litigation, accountants' liability, real estate, and insolvency and bankruptcy litigation.
