Brian M. Pinheiro, partner in the Philadelphia office of Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP, has been named to lead the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Group.
Mr. Pinheiro, previously vice chair of the group, will lead a team of attorneys that is based in Ballard's Philadelphia office and serves a range of business clients, from multinational corporations with more than 50,000 employees to well-known regional and family-owned companies, as well as significant tax-exempt employers, religious institutions, and governmental entities.
Lawyers from Ballard Spahr sat down with Philadelphia police officers in February to draw up wills and living wills in the Pennsylvania launch of Wills For Heroes, a nonprofit born in the wake of 9/11 that provides free estate-planning services to first responders nationwide.
The lawyers drew up estate-planning documents for about 40 first responders from the Edison (N.J.) First Aid Squad and surrounding communities. In coming months, the firm will help coordinate clinics for police, firefighters, and other first responders across the commonwealth.
