Seattle Member Gabe Galanda was featured in a video depicting the noteworthy accomplishments of local minorities who best exemplify Martin Luther King, Jr.'s vision of being judged by "the content of their character" at King County's annual Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration. The video, one of the centerpieces of the 22nd annual King County event honoring Dr. King, spotlighted Mr. Galanda's work in successfully lobbying for the inclusion of Indian law on the Washington State bar exam, as well as his efforts on behalf of the Indian Legal Scholars program. The program, founded by Mr. Galanda, has currently donated over $100,000 in scholarship funds to Native American law students since 2003.
