PIPLA Hosts Sen. Arlen Specter And Chief Judge Michel

Stradley Ronon partner and Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association (PIPLA) President Kevin Casey hosted U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter and Hon. Paul Michel, Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, at the association's Annual Judge's Dinner in Philadelphia. Sen. Specter presented PIPLA's Award for Outstanding IP Achievement to the Hon. Paul Michel. The Award is given annually to a person who has fostered an interest in or made substantial contributions to the field of intellectual property law, especially in the relevant geographic area.

Girifalco and Danielle Banks presented "Rainmaking & Business Development for Women: First-Hand Advice and Success Stories" at the recent Women in the Legal Profession Summit in Philadelphia.

Kim Jessum, Stradley Ronon attorney, was appointed chair of the American Bar Association Intellectual Property Law Section's 24th Annual Intellectual Property Law Conference on April 1 to 4, 2009 in Arlington, Virginia.

Crystal M. Garcia has joined Stradley's marketing department as business development specialist responsible for coordinating, maintaining and supporting the firm's marketing and business development initiatives.

Stradley Ronon partner Lee A. Rosengard presented, "Ethics: Model Rules and Model Behavior," co-sponsored by the Philadelphia Bar Association's Law Practice Management Division and the Association of Legal Administrators Philadelphia Chapter. Co-chair of Stradley Ronon's alternative dispute resolution practice group, Mr. Rosengard is a court-annexed mediator for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Stradley Ronon partner Debra Dunne presented, "Refuting Emerging Theories of Consumer Fraud Liability Relating to Product Assertions and Promotional Activity," at the Drug and Device Forum in Philadelphia. The conference focused on defending consumer fraud economic injury claims. Ms. Dunne is chair of the firm's life sciences practice group.

Stradley Ronon partner Kevin Goldstein, member of the firm's intellectual property practice group, presented "Protecting Electronic Media and Online Content" at a seminar in Fort Washington, PA. The seminar examined the basic principles of U.S. copyright law, compliance with copyright notice requirements and how to register copyrights.

Stradley Ronon partner Steven A. Scolari was selected as the recipient of the Main Line Chamber of Commerce 2008 Chairman's Award. The award recognizes a board member who has exhibited outstanding work and service to the organization. Mr. Scolari currently serves on the Chamber's board of directors and its board development committee. He also co-chairs the steering committee for the Chamber's leadership main line program, which aims to provide diverse learning experiences to inspire individuals to make a difference in the community.
