LexisNexis Introduces New SoftwareFeaturing Built-In Capability For Email Discovery

LexisNexis announced that it has introduced CaseMap 8.0, a new version of the company's award-winning fact and issue management offering that now also includes a nimble self-managed email discovery solution for litigators who are handling smaller cases.

In response to the trend of law firm and in-house attorneys desiring more control over their own documents, data and discovery costs, LexisNexis created the DocPreviewer module within CaseMap to place command of email discovery directly into the hands of litigators.

Focusing on email correspondence from Microsoft®Outlook, the first place that litigators typically go when they want to review electronic documents and start developing their case strategy, the DocPreviewer feature is ideal for handling smaller cases that don't permit or require the resources to employ full-time technical staff support or an outside provider of electronic discovery services.

CaseMap 8.0 software was introduced to the legal profession in August 2008. DocPreviewer works inside of CaseMap to quickly load emails, identify and auto-populate key players in the "Cast of Characters" fields in the software, and then link the PDFs of those emails back to those players in the case. The new module can only be licensed by existing CaseMap customers and is only compatible with CaseMap 8.0 software.
