Weil Gotshal Secures Major Litigation Victory For ExxonMobil

Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP triumphed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on behalf of Exxon Mobil Corporation and co-defendants BP, Citgo Petroleum Corp., Marathon Oil Corp., and Shell Oil Company in defeating certification of a national class in a litigation alleging conspiracy among major integrated oil companies to restrict the supply of gasoline and thus increase gas prices. The plaintiff had asked for over $1 billion in damages.

The Weil Gotshal litigation team was led by partners Jim Quinn and David Yohai and included associates Chris Roberts and Jessie Mishkin.

The Prague office of Weil, Gotshal has been named the winner among all law firms in the Czech Republic in the prestigious International Law Office (ILO) Client Choice Awards, it was reported today. The recognition is thought to be particularly meaningful since it represents a broad portrait of client opinion.
