Proskauer Rose Continues International Expansion With Two Offices In China

Proskauer Rose LLP announced its continued expansion with the impending opening of its 12th and 13th offices, first in Hong Kong and later in Beijing. In the past year, the firm opened in London and São Paulo, while substantially expanding its presence in Paris. Earlier this year, Proskauer also opened in Chicago, its eighth office in the U.S.

Former Heller Ehrman partners Ying Li, who led the firm's China Business Practice, and Joseph Cha, who led its Beijing office and its Asian Private Equity and Fund Formation Practice, have joined Proskauer as partners.

Yuval Tal, a New York corporate partner who is an integral part of Proskauer's internationally recognized Lodging & Gaming Practice, will become resident partner in the soon-to-be-opened Hong Kong office. All three will lead the firm's entry into the region and help serve its clients as they build their businesses in China.

Proskauer Rose has been named one of the country's "Best Places to Work" in the annual survey conducted by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

Proskauer Rose earned the top rating of 100 percent in the 2009 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), joining the ranks of 259 other major U.S. businesses that received top marks for their treatment of LGBT employees and consumers.

On September 17, 2008, the U.S. House of Representatives approved the Senate's version (S. 3406) of the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 ("ADAAA") sending the legislation to the White House for enactment.

Former U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Vice Chair Leslie E. Silverman, who led the way in developing the EEOC's recent nationwide program aimed at combating systemic discrimination, has joined Proskauer Rose LLP as a partner in its Washington, D.C. office.

Proskauer Rose announced that Carolyn Doppelt Gray, a former senior official at the U.S. Health and Human Services Department, has joined the firm as special counsel in the Labor and Employment Law Department. Based in Washington, D.C., she also will serve as co-chair of the firm's Accessibility and Accommodations Practice Group, along with Allan Weitzman, partner and head of the Labor and Employment practice in Boca Raton, Fla.
