To The Readers Of The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel :
I would like to extend a personal invitation to attend DELVACCA's Annual Chapter Dinner this month. This will be a truly exciting event as we kick off our 25th anniversary celebration for 2008. The dinner will take place in the Crystal Tea Room at the Wanamaker Building, Broad and Market streets in Philadelphia. The Crystal Tea Room is an elegant and historical setting that is apropos as we begin a look back to our chapter's original dating to the fall of 1983.
We have a unique itinerary arranged for the evening. We begin at 6 p.m. with a reception and book signing by our keynote speaker, Jan Crawford Greenberg, an ABC News legal news correspondent. She is based in Washington, DC, where she covers the Supreme Court and national legal issues and provides legal analysis for all ABC News platforms. At the dinner, she will be signing copies of her book on the Supreme Court, Supreme Conflict: The Inside Story of the Struggle for Control of the United States Supreme Court , which was published in January by Penguin Press. The book is a penetrating and unvarnished look at the making of the current United States Supreme Court and a news breaking account of the coordinated campaign to move the Court in a more conservative direction.
Dinner itself, which begins at 7 p.m., will feature the election of officers and presentation of the chapter's 2007 Excellence Awards. Our Pro Bono Award this year will go to Brian D. Zuckerman, vice president, general counsel and secretary, Pep Boys. This year's General Counsel/Law Department awardee is Deneen Stewart, general counsel, ING Direct. And our Chapter Leadership Award will go to N. Alexander Erlam, general counsel, Vertical Screen Group of Companies.
The chapter also will accept the ACC 2007 Programming Excellence Award.
None of this would have been possible without the help of our event sponsors: WolfBlock, CSC, Flaster Greenberg, Cozen O'Connor, Saul Ewing, Edwards Angell, Littler Mendelson, Kelly Law Registry, DLA Piper, Assigned Counsel, LambMcErlane, and Kroll.
The tickets prices will be $60 for chapter members and $75 for guests. Tables of eight are available for $500 and tables of ten are available for $625. To register for the event, go to http://delvacca.acc.com/ and click on the registration link at the top of the page. If you have other questions, please call our chapter administrator, Chris Stewart, at (215) 295-0729 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hope to see you there.
