To The Readers Of The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel :
Our chapter is delighted to have been honored as the 2005 winner of ACC's Chapter for the Year Award in the category of small chapters. Located from Harrisburg to Allentown, our members represent a wide array of companies with such familiar household names as The Hershey Company, Giant Food Stores, Tyco Electronics Corporation and Armstrong World Industries.
The coming year is incredibly exciting for us. In addition to our annual Chapter family picnic and Senators Baseball game at Harrisburg City Island on July 22nd, we are co-sponsoring a Golf and Spa fundraising event with the Keystone Bar Association on September 14. To be held at the newly renovated Hershey Country Club, the event proceeds will benefit our Street Law program and the Justice Nix Scholarship Fund. On September 30 in conjunction with ACC's National Community Service Day, we are once again sponsoring a community service project on the Heritage Trail at the Army War College in Carlisle. The event was tremendously successful last year.
The professional opportunities we provide to our members are highlighted by our four CLE events every year. Last month, our annual full-day program was dedicated to the mlange of issues surrounding 'Contracts.' We addressed topics such as Merger and Acquisition contracts, Article 2 of the UCC, Trade Secrets and the ever-present Indemnification and Insurance provisions. We will have two partial-day programs later this year in September and November and a program in February that is typically followed by our Annual Meeting. For more information about all of our Chapter Events, please visit our web site at www.acca.com/chapters/centpa.php.
The value we add to our members' in-house practice would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. I'd like to thank our 2006 premier sponsors McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC and Buchanan Ingersoll PC, our 2005 gold sponsors Wolf Block and Barley Snyder LLC, and our 2005 National Community Service Day sponsor Thomas, Thomas & Hafer LLP for their generous support.
