Letter From The President Of The National Association Of Women Lawyers

2006-07-01 01:00

To The Readers Of The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel :

The National Association of Women Lawyers(NAWL) is pleased to announce our Annual Meeting schedule for Tuesday, July 18, at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.

The headline event is the Annual Awards Luncheon and installation of the 2006-2007 NAWL executive officers. This year, we will be honoring Judge Katharine S. Hayden of the United States District Court, District of New Jersey, with the Arabella Babb Mansfield Award, and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., with the NAWL President's Award . The program and luncheon is sponsored by, among others, the New York and New Jersey chapters of ACC, to whom we are extremely grateful.

Prior to the Annual Luncheon, we will hold a morning CLE program entitled 'Effective Partnering Strategies.' The session explores best practices for in-house and outside counsel to use in handling an internal investigation and is essential training for in-house lawyers. The program includes a moderated panel of three in-house attorneys, a firm attorney and the chief of investigations from the New York Attorney General's office. The session promises to be a thoughtful and intriguing program of great value to all corporate counsel.

As the Voice of Women in the Law , NAWL has become the premier women's bar association in the country. We have expanded our efforts to offer excellent educational programming for all attorneys and welcome both members and non-members to our events. For more information or to register for the program and luncheon, please visit www.nawl.org.

Sincerely,

Lorraine Koc
