Letter From A Member Of The Board of Directors Of The New Jersey Corporate Counsel Association And Chair Of The NJCCA 21st Century Law Committee

To The Readers Of The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel:

A critical challenge faced by in-house counsel is how to get more work accomplished with fewer resources, while staying within tight budgets. One answer to this puzzle is to develop efficient and effective processes that harness the most advanced technologies.

The use of technology tools, however, is about much more than cost savings. Implemented properly, technologies can strengthen relationships with internal clients, raise the profile of the law department and drive optimal use of outside counsel.

On Wednesday, February 15, NJCCA, along with LexisNexis, will be hosting a CLE-accredited seminar, entitled "Turn Technology To Your Advantage," that will examine existing and emerging technology tools that help in-house counsel achieve necessary efficiencies. This half-day event will feature cutting-edge applications for Legal Spend Management, E-Discovery, Matter Management and Document Management. I encourage all in-house counsel interested in implementing best technology practices in their law departments to attend this event. Breakfast will be included.

In keeping with the seminar's theme of the empowering effect of technology, the seminar will be available via webcast for those who cannot attend in person. This seminar will be one of the first NJCCA events offered via webcast and represents yet another example of the NJCCA's dedication to offer members of the in-house bar practical information designed to make their working lives more productive.
