Letter From The President Of The Association Of Corporate Counsel – Wisconsin Chapter

2013-05-23 12:31

To The Readers Of The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel:

It’s my privilege to serve as the president of the Association of Corporate Counsel – Wisconsin Chapter (WISACCA). With over 450 members, WISACCA is one of the most active chapters of the Association of Corporate Counsel.

Through the efforts and participation of our members, volunteer board members, executive director and sponsors, WISACCA in partnership with the ACC is able to provide Wisconsin in-house counsel with the most relevant and best value in education, networking and advocacy opportunities.

For example, we just held our annual conference, which was one of the best attended in the event’s history. WISACCA also provides our members with one of the longest- running and most popular annual ethics programs in the state. In recent years, we have increased our free CLE opportunities to six timely and topical seminars throughout the year. We also provide scholarships to Wisconsin law students to perform pro bono work during their summer breaks.

In the past year, we partnered with The Business Journal for the first annual Top Corporate Counsel Awards. We have also continued our advocacy efforts to focus on the needs and interests of Wisconsin in-house counsel, provided regular newsletters and other updates to our members, and offered networking opportunities such as our annual Brewers game outing for our members and their families.

WISACCA would not be able to provide all of these benefits without the support of our sponsors. Our platinum sponsors are Foley & Lardner LLP, Godfrey & Kahn, S.C., Littler Mendelson P.C., Perkins Coie LLP, Quarles & Brady LLP, and Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C.

Our gold sponsors are Boyle Fredrickson S.C., Davis & Kuelthau, s.c., Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan LLP, Hansen Reynolds Dickinson Crueger LLC, Lindner & Marsack, S.C., Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c., and von Briesen & Roper, s.c.  Our silver sponsors are ALFA International, Contract Counsel Solutions, Inc., Digital Intelligence, Inc., LexisNexis (Reed Elsevier Inc.), Practical Law Company, Inc., and Thomson Reuters.

As we look forward to the next twelve months, we commit to exceeding the expectations of the Wisconsin in-house counsel we serve and providing the value they’ve come to expect. I look forward to seeing you at one of our many events this year. I also encourage our members to visit our webpage, www.acc.com/chapters/wisc, consider joining one of our committees, or to reach out to our board members to provide your feedback.
