The New Jersey Corporate Counsel Association (NJCCA) continually strives to develop programs and events that will provide exceptional value to our members. We have a number of exciting upcoming programs and events that I want to bring to your attention.
On February 12, the law firm of Lowenstein Sandler LLP, in conjunction with the NJCCA’s Technology Law Committee, will host a program entitled, “Negotiating Cloud Services Agreements: Key Issues and Contract Terms For Your Next Technology Acquisition.” This practical seminar will provide an in-depth examination of cloud service agreements, taught by a panel of speakers with hands-on industry experience. The two-hour program will offer an understandable explanation of what is really meant by a “cloud solution” and how these systems work; key contract risks and issues in cloud agreements; negotiating strategies, and the special data security issues presented by a cloud environment. There will also be ample opportunity to discuss questions with the panelists and to network with other attendees. This seminar is directed to both lawyers specializing in technology and software licensing and the generalist in-house counsel who may be required to negotiate a cloud service agreement. This program is from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will be held at Lowenstein Sandler’s state-of-the-art conference center located at 65 Livingston Avenue, Roseland, New Jersey.
On February 29, the NJCCA’s Ethics and Compliance Committee is very excited to host, along with the law firm of Kaufman Dolowich Voluck & Gonzo LLP, a program entitled “Ethical Pitfalls to be Avoided by In-House Corporate Counsel.” This first-ever NJCCA Ethics Meet and Greet will take place on February 26, 2012, at the Bergen County Bar Association, located at the George W. Newman Law Building, 15 Bergen Street, Hackensack, NJ, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. This program will discuss emerging ethical issues faced by in-house corporate counsel and is open to all in-house counsel. Panelists will include experienced attorneys from the private and government sectors, including the Director of the Office of Attorney Ethics of the Supreme Court of New Jersey. This truly is a must-attend event.

Finally, planning is underway for our upcoming major annual events, so please mark your calendars. Our annual Spring Cocktail Reception will be held on May 16 at the extraordinarily beautiful Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange. Those of you who attended the cocktail reception last year will remember the gorgeous weather and setting and the relaxed camaraderie and will not want to miss this year’s event! As before, we will offer two hours of CLE programming prior to the start of the cocktail reception. Our annual Golf Outing is scheduled for July 15, 2013 at the beautiful Neshanic Valley Golf Course in Somerset County. Whether you are a seasoned player or a beginner, you should come out for what is always a very fun day on the links. Finally, our annual All-Day CLE Conference is scheduled for September 20, 2013 at the East Hanover Marriott. This unparalleled event will enable you to earn more than one-third of your required bi-annual CLE credits in just one day.
