The New Jersey Corporate Counsel Association (NJCCA) is pleased to announce that Giuliano Chicco, NJCCA@acc.com, has been appointed executive director of the NJCCA effective December 1, 2012. Giuliano has been a member of the board of directors of the NJCCA for the past eight years and has served as a vice president of Communications and editor of our monthly newsletter. That, however, merely scratches the surface. Giuliano has frequently volunteered to do many things for the NJCCA, including taking photographs at our events and preparing an annual musical video and written recap of the organization’s year. Perhaps most importantly, however, Giuliano always brings creativity and good cheer to our many meetings and events. Please join me in welcoming Giuliano as our Executive Director, and do not hesitate to contact him if you have any questions, comments or suggestions.

In keeping with our mission of providing timely CLE programming of topical interest to our members, this month we have held a program focused on common privilege issues in-house counsel encounter in litigation and commercial practices and a webinar on international trade regulation issues in mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, earlier this month we held our annual holiday children’s book wrapping event to benefit women and children living in temporary housing as a result of domestic violence issues. We were happy to volunteer our time to provide some much needed holiday happiness to the recipients of the wrapped books.
Planning is underway for an exciting new initiative to be held in February: An “ethics meet and greet” program at which we will provide ethics-related CLE programming coupled with an informal networking gathering where attendees will have time to mingle and converse in a relaxed setting. Responding to the request of several of our members that we hold some events in the northern part of the state and, specifically, Bergen County, this event will be held in Hackensack. Details will be provided shortly. We look forward to seeing you there.
