Letter From The President Of The Wisconsin Chapter Of The Association Of Corporate Counsel:

2012-05-18 10:30

To The Readers of The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel:

As the incoming president of the Wisconsin Chapter of The Association of Corporate Counsel (“WisACCA”), I want to thank our outgoing president, James Frasher, for his leadership and dedication to the board. Under Jim’s leadership, we launched the WisACCA Pro Bono Fellowship awards to support law students committed to pro bono activities. Two Marquette University Law School students were awarded Fellowships. After the students complete the required number of pro bono hours, each will be awarded a Fellowship in the amount of $2,500. WisACCA looks forward to expanding the number of Fellowship recipients during the 2012/2013 board year.

Each year in May, WisACCA hosts its signature event, the Annual Conference at The Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake. The Annual Conference offers members a day and a half of CLE programs specifically designed for corporate counsel and provides attendees with the opportunity to network with fellow members throughout Wisconsin.

In addition to the programming at the Annual Conference, WisACCA offers other customized in-house CLE programs throughout the year.  This year, WisACCA is delighted to have two of our Annual Conference Platinum Sponsors host CLE programs for our members in September and October. WisACCA will also host its annual three-hour ethics CLE in November.

Although WisACCA is known for great CLE programs, we also offer a purely social event for the entire family to enjoy. The annual Brewers game and tailgate outing will take place on Sunday, July 29. More information on all of our events can be found on the chapter website, www.acc.com/chapters/wisc.

Finally, I welcome member participation on any one of our various committees. We are also open to suggestions on programming or other services that would be of value to our members. You can provide feedback or volunteer for a committee by contacting our executive director, Carrie Booher, at wisaccacjb@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
