Letter From The President Of ACCHouston

2009-09-01 01:00

To The Readers Of The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel:

Our chapter has taken certain measures to assist ACC members who find that they have been downsized as a result of the economic crisis. In May 2009, ACC Houston sponsored a panel discussion entitled "Navigating the Storm: Career Planning for In-House Counsel in Uncertain Times."ACC Houston's website lists open positions within Texas and advertises the monthly in-transition conference calls and listserv sponsored by ACC Headquarters.ACC Houston also sponsors an informal monthly luncheon for in-transition members to network and share job leads. In fact, every ACC Houston program has a networking component for continuous networking opportunities

Our chapter remains responsive to the needs and interests of our members. The programs and subjects that are quite popular are those in furtherance of ACC's Value Challenge Initiative, such as containing legal costs and alternative billing arrangements, the Mini MBA program, the Golf/Spa event with 2 hours of ethics credit, and other timely subjects, such as updates on the attorney-client privilege.

Sincerely,

Kelli Powell
