Our popular accounting series continues with two final meetings in March:Technology & Accounting on March 9 and Internal Controls and Coso on March 24. Even if you have not attended any of the prior meetings at the University Club you may want to sign up and attend one or both of these.Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to attend.
The chapters annual meeting is scheduled to be held on April 14 at the University Club as part of our second annual compliance seminar the goal of this seminar is to provide ACC-GNY members with an overview of the fundamental elements of an effective corporate compliance program, and to introduce a few substantive areas that are "hot topics" in corporate compliance. We are pleased that New York University's Chief Compliance Officer, Robert Roach and Rebecca Holland of NYU compliance group and an not yet identified corporate compliance officer will present and discuss: elements of an effective compliance program; developing an ethical corporate culture; codes of conduct and written policies; conducting an effective risk assessment
Among the hot topics will be responding to government inquiries and global compliance issues. The panelists also plan to discuss records retention. We look forward to your joining us on that date.
On April 28 we will be launching an advertising/marketing/media committee.The plan is to meet at breakfast time/coffee for an open discussion of topics of interest to our membership.The law firm of Frankfurt Kurnit Klein and Selz has offered to host the first meeting at their offices, 488 Madison Avenue.The suggested topic is "sequential liability." The attendance will be limited to the first twenty people who respond to email@example.com
