Navigating the Board and Senior Management through Shifting Data Privacy and Data Security Risks
The cyber-attack on Sony made clear to even those with the most rudimentary understanding of information technical systems that stealing credit card information is not the only thing cyber-criminals do.   And the increasing regulatory focus in Washington and elsewhere on how companies collect and use data – and whether doing so should even be permissible in certain circumstance – present real execution risks across industries.

Navigating these issues is no longer the sole domain of IT specialists, let alone someone within an organization who is just writing code or putting together a marketing program.   This panel will discuss emerging regulatory and market expectations for how boards and senior executives should consider cyber-issues in the overall context of managing an organization’s business or risk profile, potential pitfalls, and practical tips on developing a reasonable governance program for handling, using, and protecting sensitive data.
