John Beechey of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris will offer the keynote address and discuss what is happening today in the world of global arbitration. Various panel discussions will follow, covering such topics as the future of global arbitration, what clients look for when they retain lawyers to represent them in arbitration, and how lawyers should be trained to meet client arbitration needs in the future.
A networking reception in conjunction with DRI’s Hot Topics in International Dispute Resolution Seminar will follow Wednesday evening and launches that two-day event. On Thursday at 9:00 a.m., the talks include the Development of Consumer ADR and Impact of the 2013 EU Legislation; The Emerging Law of Class Actions and Collective Redress in Europe; and In-House Counsel on Cross-Border Litigation Management and the Virtual Law Firm. On Friday morning, Dr. Meinrad Vetter, Commercial Court of the Canton of Aargau, Switzerland, will participate in a discussion about differences in presenting expert testimony at trial, and Charles A. Stewart III, Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP, will moderate a panel discussing legal concerns for product manufacturers involved in cross-border litigation. The DRI International Meeting, which is open to all, will follow in the afternoon.
