ACC’s Corporate Counsel University is designed specifically for attorneys who are new to in-house or who are looking to sharpen their basic practice skills. Participants will learn from experienced corporate counsel tips and information that may be applied to their practice immediately.
Seminar offerings include the following: On Monday, Bernadette Bulacan, director, Thomson Reuters, and Martin Montes, assistant general counsel, Exelon Business Services Company, will cover Outside Counsel Management. In a panel discussion titled Becoming Your Law Department’s Rising Star, ACC’s Top 10 30-Somethings Award winners will share advice on defining yourself as a rising star in your legal department. In other sessions, Dorothy Capers, associate general counsel, US Foods, Inc., and others will offer an Introduction to Corporate Litigation, and Rick Welch, Boston University School of Management, will cover project management.
On Tuesday, Frederick J. Krebs, senior advisor, ACC, and Sherry D. Williams, senior vice president, chief ethics & compliance officer, Halliburton, will offer Company Ethics and Internal Investigations – Dealing with the Whistleblowers. Other talks include Effective Compliance Programs, Protecting Your Client’s Intellectual Property, and Contracts Drafting Workshop.
