Ms. Gongola and another Patent Operations official will address USPTO implementation of AIA regulations and ongoing progress in phasing in changes reaulting from the AIA. They will discuss how to increase efficiency in working with the Office, results of programs instituted under the AIA, and new initiatives related to the AIA and other changes at the Office.  The overall topics will be selected from initiatives related to first-to-file programs, accelerated examination, interview programs, compact prosecution, fee structures, e-petitions, IP infrastructure and the planned Silicon Valley Office. Mr. Calvert will discuss the new pro bono program instituted as a result of the AIA, including ethical considerations involved in the program.
