DRI has assembled presenters ranging from leading scholars to nationally recognized litigators from both the plaintiffs’ and defense bar, to current and former members of the federal bench, to experienced insurance professionals. DRI begins the program with Dean Karen Blum’s update on qualified immunity and ends with an insightful presentation from Magistrate Judge Tim Rice on his views from the bench on the resolution of Section 1983 claims. In between, we will hear from Dean Erwin Chemerinsky on cutting-edge Supreme Court decisions impacting the practice; Stephen Tuttle from TASER International on the latest developments in electronic control weapons; an interactive debate on the relationships and duties between insurers, insureds and defense counsel; and other topics, including prison liability, appellate advocacy, use of social media, e-discovery and school-based claims.
