A program concerning the Qualcomm case, which imposed sanctions on attorneys that were later vacated, and looking toward how lawyers and clients protect themselves from such situations. Topics include the events in the Qualcomm case that were most significant in leading to the initial sanctions order; what facts and defenses enabled the attorneys to vacate the sanctions order (including the self-defense exception to the attorney-client privilege and how that was invoked); and considerations for attorneys and clients to avoid such situations in litigation.
