Intellectual property issues impact more clients and areas of law than many practitioners realize. The odds are that most lawyers will eventually face IP issues relating to patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. This program will provide participants who do not concentrate in this area with an overview of the various aspects of intellectual property law. Attendees will learn how to identify what IP needs to be protected and how to obtain these rights and learn how to defend clients accused of infringement. Speakers will also cover IP issues that arise in business transactions and licensing agreements, the Internet and domain name issues.
