This year’s IP academy will feature renowned speakers, including USPTO and federal trade officials, leading educators and private practitioners, all presenting targeted IP sessions. Teresa Stanek Rea, deputy under secretary of commerce for IP and deputy director, USPTO, will discuss the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act and what it means for IP practitioners. Another session will review IP and the U.S. International Trade Commission and will be presented by Shara Aranoff, commissioner and former chairman, U.S. International Trade Commission. Other topics include Trademark Developments in the Past Year -- Including Significant Wisconsin Cases in the Seventh Circuit, and Requirements for Liability for False Advertising under the Lanham Act.
