This symposium will explore the importance of competition in financial markets as this industry enters the Dodd-Frank era. The conference will feature leading scholars and includes a keynote address by former Federal Reserve chair, Paul A. Volcker, Jr.
The panelists will examine the role of antitrust policy in the financial sector. Particular focus will be placed on discussion and analysis of the role of competition in the financial sector; competition in the banking industry; consumer protection in the financial sector, and its implications for competition in this industry; and the effectiveness of antitrust enforcement in the banking and finance sectors.
