Attendees will learn the benefits of using open source code, and why more corporations are releasing their software as open source as part of their business model. The course will assist practitioners in helping clients avoid open source licensing pitfalls. Participants will learn about Google’s open source compliance program and about conducting audits to search for open source code that inadvertently has been added to client’s code. Also, dispute resolution with open source groups will be addressed. Merger and acquisitions practitioners and government lawyers will gain an understanding of the risks and responsibilities that open source licensing can pose to their clients
