Pre-registration is required for this training. The HNP is a limited-scope project providing representation to families facing eviction. Representation is limited to settlement conferences only. HNP, the first pro bono project of its kind, is a project in which every person in need of representation has a pro bono attorney.
Volunteer shifts run from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and each volunteer will represent from one to three clients per shift. It gives attorneys an excellent opportunity to gain valuable negotiation experience without a large time commitment.
Volunteers must attend the training session in order to participate in the project, and after the training they must commit to four afternoon sessions within six months.
