On Thursday, April 19, through Saturday, April 21, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association will host the General Counsel Invitational (GCI) Diversity Leadership Summit. It will be held at the Doral Resort and Spa, 4400 NW 87 Avenue in Miami, Florida.
On Thursday the day begins with a golf outing at 6:30 a.m. CLE courses begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. On Friday events begin at 7:30 a.m. and end at 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday, sessions begin at noon and end at 9:00 p.m.
The General Counsel Invitational will offer participants golf and spa treatments as well as top-notch educational sessions focusing on leadership and diversity in areas of concern to in-house counsel. The GCI gives participants the chance to network and hear the latest updates in corporate diversity initiatives. Ethics will be discussed by Yvonne Estime, associate general counsel and director of Large Law Programs, the ACC. Other topics include advancing diversity and inclusion – succession planning in your organization; cultural intelligence: stories from doing legal business around the world; and empowering diverse attorneys with origination credit.
The summit is being co-sponsored by the Association of Corporate Counsel. The GCI supports the Lloyd M. Johnson Jr. Scholarship program, which is MCCA’s principal program to assist diverse students in their pursuit of a career in law.
