On Tuesday, March 13, and Wednesday, March 14, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute will offer the 18th Annual Health Law Institute at the Pennsylvania Convention Center at 12th and Arch Streets in Philadelphia.

Both days begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:35 p.m.

This annual gathering of the health law bar and other health law professionals brings together the public and private sectors to focus on the most complex issues health law practitioners face. The institute will combine an expert faculty and a flexible format filled with important health law topics.

A featured session looks at Affordable Health Care Exchanges and will be led by Michael F. Consedine, commissioner, Pennsylvania Insurance Department, and Todd A. Shamash, governor’s deputy chief of staff.

James Sheehan, chief integrity officer and executive deputy commissioner for New York City’s Human Resources Administration will review compliance issues and how the states will implement mandatory federal and state compliance programs. Other topics are Electronic Health Records Legal Issues; False Claims Act Updates; and a Health Law Year in Review.

Among the speakers are David Harlow, principal, The Harlow Group LLC; Alice G. Gosfeild, Alice G. Gosfield & Associates, P.C.; Beth Rubin, PNC Bank, National Association; Barry R. Furrow, Drexel University Earl Mack School of Law; and David S. Sokolow, Fox Rothschild LLP.
