The Louisiana State Bar Association in cooperation with the Louisiana Supreme Court will present Conquering the Myths and Creating a Competitive Advantage: Fifth Annual Conclave on Diversity in the Legal Profession on Friday, March 2, at the New Orleans Marriott, 555 Canal Street in New Orleans.
The event begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 6:45 p.m.
The conclave will encourage discussion among judges, attorneys and primary hiring and managing attorneys within law firms and law departments. The central topics will focus on the importance of diversity within the legal profession and how to improve diversity within the profession in Louisiana.
Topics are Preparing for Conquest: Understanding the Journey for Inclusion within the Legal Profession, presented by Kelly McNeil Legier, director, Member Outreach and Diversity, LSBA; Mastering the Sword and Shield, a workshop aimed at assessing and reducing cross-cultural conflicts, facilitated by Hon. Wendell L. Griffen and Manny Brandt, Griffen Strategic Consulting PLLC; and Calculating Diversity Return on Investment.
The keynote address, Fortifying the Fort: Diversity in 2012 – Where is it Going from Here? will be given by Lt. Governor John L. “Jay” Dardenne, Jr.
Other speakers are Gregg M. Formella, senior attorney, American Airlines and ABA Disabilities Commission; Charles L. Rice, Jr., CEO Entergy; and Hon. Bernette Joshua Johnson.
