Join the Voice of the Defense Bar on Thursday and Friday, February 9 and 10, for the annual Toxic Torts and Environmental Law Seminar at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, 4441 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach.
It runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. Thursday and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Friday.
Recent environmental regulation and enforcement, changing science, and catastrophic events constantly in the news have presented significant challenges to the manufacturers and users of potentially hazardous materials and chemicals. Whether it has been governmental regulators taking positions not supported by sound science, or aggressive counsel pushing theories not back by any science, the complex nature of defending and managing toxic tort matters has continued to escalate.
To assist practitioners in more effectively understanding and reacting to this evolving landscape, this seminar will provide a forum where in-house counsel, defense counsel and consultants will discuss recent developments, trends and significant regulatory changes in this area of law.
The speakers are John A. Kind, Center for Toxicology & Environmental Health, LLC; Donise E. Brown, director corporate counsel, Starbucks Coffee Company; William G. Childs, professor associate dean, Western New England University School of Law; and Ned N. Isokaw, Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker LLP.
