Topics throughout the seminar include energy economics in 2012; gas markets, shale gas production and gas prices – what the future holds; integration, reliability, operational and regulatory issues for renewables; the current utility-scale solar and wind generation market; current legal issues related to wind lease and easement agreements; when and how much storage will transform the electric industry; solar developments, economics, incentives and barriers in 2012; Texas renewable energy policy; financing and deal structures for wind and renewable projects; and siting issues.

On Wednesday, Donna L. Nelson, chair, Public Utility Commission of Texas, will offer the keynote presentation, A Chairman’s Perspective on Renewable Energy and Storage. Thursday’s corporate keynote address – Storage and Renewables from the CPS Perspective – will be offered by Doyle N. Beneby, president and chief executive officer, CPS Energy in San Antonio.
