The District of Columbia Bar Association will present Export Controls and Economic Sanctions 2012: Recent Developments and Current Issues onWednesday, February 8, at the DC Bar Conference Center, 1101 K Street, NW in DC.
The program starts at 6:00 and ends at 8:15 p.m.
This course will focus on current hot topic issues, such as developments under the Administration’s Export Control Reform Initiative including the new proposed “600” Series that migrated certain items from the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) to the Commerce Control List; the new license exception Strategic Trade Authorization; changes to U.S. trade sanctions and embargo programs in light of global political events, particularly in Libya and Syria; and changes to ITAR rules on releases abroad of defense technical data to third country nationals and dual nationals. The course will enhance the attendees’ understanding of U.S. dual-use and munitions export control programs and the economic sanctions regimes.
