On Wednesday, November 9, the Boston Bar Association is offering a Labor Law Basics course at the Boston Bar, 16 Beacon Street. It starts at 3:00 p.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m.
The program is designed for attorneys interested in or new to labor law who wish to develop a labor practice or to advise clients facing labor issues. The panel of experienced practitioners will provide an overview of the relevant federal and state statutes and will end with audience participation in the analysis of a hypothetical union grievance, challenging an employer’s decision to discipline an employee.
After the seminar, attendees will know the general framework of labor law in the U.S. and how to approach a question concerning the right of the employee or management in the labor/management relations.
The speakers are Rosemary Pye, regional director, National Labor Relations Board and James Shaw of Segal Roitman LLP.
